What do you believe children should be doing all day?
The ability for children to interact socially is one of our primary goals. This goal goes beyond simply making friends. We strive to create a community. We believe that our relationships with one another guide our behaviors. Our children's natural empathy and kindness are supported through a high quality group care environment. Children are supported to build language and social skills to create relationships. Our infants begin to learn to touch one another gently and recognize others efforts to communicate. Our toddlers learn to help one another and begin to play together.
Our Children Developing Life Skills
80% of brain development occurs before the age of 3. Children's brains are organizing, they are building an understanding of their world, and developing their own thoughts about learning. We work to promote young children's self regulation, focus, engaged learning, communication, making connections, and thinking critically. Our infants begin to understand their world through routines based on simple language and songs. To promote optimal brain development we create a consistent safe and supportive environment for children to explore and learn.
Our Children Learning to Love Learning Through Play
We believe children learn best when they are interested and engaged in their learning. That true learning happens not through our teaching but through creation of a space, environment, and opportunity to learn. We know children's brains are designed to learn and develop. We support children and families to see the children's learning and development through their play. Our children learn to communicate through our Reggio inspiration of their 100 languages including art, drama, language, writing, and baby sign. Our role is to support them as they explore the world not to limit their learning by exclusively teaching to our viewpoint or understanding.
